With our 2011 season behind us I'd like to take
this opportunity to thank everyone who supported us! As new
owners we certainly had our share of challenges
our season
began with a 10 week delay in obtaining our liquor license,
so kudos to everyone who waited out our "Prohibition".
Then we had rain
lots of rain. And a hurricane
a real,
live tropical hurricane which closed Rt.8 for weeks, and had
everyone asking "Are you still open?" and "How
do we get there?". Then, only 8 weeks later Mother Nature
dropped 2 feet of snow on us as a Halloween practical joke
how
can you hold the end of season tournament when you can't get
on the course without a snow plow? And, unbelievably, the first
week of December was still warm enough to get in 18 holes between
the frost burning off and the sun setting at 4:30. Whew, what
an unusual season! Here's hoping that 2012 will be a little
less crazy!
We have decided to make a few changes this year. Most notably
we will not be serving dinner on a nightly basis. We will still
be available for banquets and functions, including parties,
fundraisers and tournaments. And speaking of tournaments, we
will be opening our doors to everyone (members and non-members)
for all club sponsored tournaments except the Club Championship,
which I'm happy to report, will be held over Labor Day Weekend.
Our complete schedule of events is already posted and if anyone
has questions about booking a function or creating a menu for
an event, please feel free to contact us. Also, the 2012 leagues
will be run by the Club, with Gary Cyr acting as the League
Manager. Overall, the league members won't really see a big
change to how the leagues operate, but Gary will be more than
happy to answer any questions. The league schedule can be found
on both the website and our Facebook page. We encourage both
members and non-members alike to join a league; a good time
will be had by all!
We are offering to deep discounts on memberships this year.
Our 2012 membership rates will stay steady at 2010 prices! Memberships
that are paid in full by March 1, 2012 will be discounted 10%.
And there are even deeper discounts available to members who
bring in a new member!
Our goal is to open for the season on or about April 15, 2012,
weather permitting. And this year we'll be opening with our
liquor license already in place and the course in better shape
than it's been in years!
